Thursday, May 13, 2010 // Anti-doping

After training yesterday I dropped by the kayak club to pick up my girl friend Mira. The anti doping agency was there to test the K4 girls and I got called in to do the test. I wasn’t ready to pee and was in a hurry since I was expecting a truck load of Nelo kayaks at my warehouse. The anti doping companion had to follow me to the warehouse and help unloading the kayaks. Normally I pay people for this job, but it didn’t feel right this time. After unloading; back to the club and peeing in a cup.

Sunday, May 09, 2010 // Results WC-1

It’s been great following the competiton from home and here’s what I think about 500 and 1000m. On the K1 1000m Max Hoff seams to be the man to beat also this year, Aleh Yurenia from Belarus took for me a suprisingly medal. He was also pretty good in the first World Cup last year, but it seems like he is even better this year. Will be interesting to see if he can go fast in Poznan in August. On the K2 1000m Germany wins easy, Slovenia and Serbia are interesting crews with a good results. Kasper Bleibach looks to be back in good shape, winning the K1 500m, lets hope he can keep his form better than he did in 2008. Ihle and Hollstein who won the K2 1000m are also first on the K2 500m, it’s not so often the same K2 win both distances. The Norwegian women team achieved very well and had 3 crews in the A final. Because of the current, none of the winning times from Vichy will go into my Top Ten Winning times list.

Friday, May 07, 2010 // WC-1

It’s a bit strange to be at home watching the results from Vichy on internett. It seems like there is a current or something in the drinking water, crazy fast times! You can see results here: http://www.vichycanoe2011.com/en/
