Thursday, June 25, 2009 // Ready for the finale!
Jacob and I won our heat on 1000m and 500m and are ready for the finale on Saturday and Sunday! I’m not impressed with the organizing here in Brandenburg. Our hotel is one hour from the regatta course with the bus, it’s not only our team that lives that far from the course. The bus doesn’t leave often so it’s almost impossible to use. The lunch and dinner is at the course which is fine, but the portions are so small that even a normal person wouldn’t be satisfied. When you have to pay more then 120 Euro per person to the organizing comitee I think you can complain a little when your hotel room smeels like cat piss and the toilet falls over when you sit to take a shit….

Thursday, June 18, 2009 // Training Camp
I won the K1 500m, 5000m and K2 500m last weekend. I’m now at Årungen on training camp, preparing for the Europeans. We’ll send a big team (compered to what we are used to), 6 men and 4 girls. Jacob and I have done two sprint sessions this week and we are pretty confident that we’ll go a little bit faster in the Eurpeans then we’ve done in the world cups. On the picture you can see the girls struggling to hold their boat in the wind…

Tomorrow I’m ready for 500m and 5000m at the 2nd Norwegian cup competition. I forgot to update my blog after K2 500m in Szeged, Jacob and I got 2nd place and we were more than happy with the race and a podium place! Szeged is definetly the best place to take a medal and especially if the Hungarians are on the podium as well. My week after Szeged has been very busy and I didn’t manage to do all the training sessions as planned. Next week I’ll be on training camp at Årungen and focus on training, eating and sleeping! Europeans here I come!
