Thursday, November 15, 2007 // Nutrition Expert

Image

This week we’ve had the company of the Norwegian Olympic Team nutrition expert, Christine Helle. I’ve know Christine for many years and she’s a former rower. She’s done different tests this week to see if we are drinking enough during and after practice. Our diet has been monitored and she’s given us great advices regarding what and when to eat. We’ve also tried a new energy drink that’s supposed to be better under warm conditions. She’s also done some cooking for us and yesterday we had a fantastic barbeque meal!

Tuesday, November 13, 2007 // Polar

Image

My team is sponsored by Polar and all the athletes have no got the Polar RS800 with the Polar GPS pod. I’ve used it for 14days and it’s a nice tool that will improve my training. The Polar software and training dairy is after my opinion the best on the market, with the GPS pod I’ve now got heart rate and speed in the same diagram.

Sunday, November 11, 2007 // 1st week

Image

I’ve had a good week of training and I enjoy the nice weather and the good conditions here in Florida. Today I’m not training, just relaxing on the sofa and building up energy for next week of training. Yesterday we did 5 x 2000m, start every 16^th minute. The first four guys were: Eirik 8:23, Mattis 8:33, Øyvind 8:42, Jacob 8:50.

Wednesday, November 07, 2007 // Gas grill

Image

We’ll be back at the same apartment in the spring so this time we have the opportunity to store stuff in the apartment while we’re back in Norway in December and January. This is our latest investment a huge grill compared to Norwegian standard. Here in the US this is one of the smallest models…

Wednesday, November 07, 2007 // The Pines

I’ve been in Florida since Sunday night and it’s good to be back. This time we had a time consuming route with stops in both Frankfurt and Washington before we arrived to Orlando. With my frequent flyer card in gold membership I’m allowed to enter the lounges at the airports, this made the travel a whole lot easier for me. So a big thanks to Olympiatoppen and SAS for upgrading me to gold membership.
